Financial Buyer
« Back to Glossary IndexAn entity that acquires another company primarily for investment purposes, with a focus on generating returns rather than integrating operations. Financial buyers include private equity firms, investment funds, and other investment entities. Their primary goal is often to buy a company, improve its performance, and sell it for a profit. Unlike strategic buyers, financial buyers may not have a direct operational interest in the industry or synergies with the target but seek attractive financial returns through effective management, operational improvements, and eventual divestment of the acquired business.
